  • Experience

    Software Engineer at Google

    12/2018 - Present. Canada

Being part of "Engineering Productivity" group, my focus is on providing various development teams at Google with tools to reliably and efficiently test, profile and diagnose software products and systems to ultimately help maintain highest level of quality.

    Principal Engineer at Scotiabank

    2/2017 - 12/2018. Canada

In this role, I'm helping accelerating Scotiabank's transformation into a true technology company. I have spent my first few months working on Cloud Development Platform - a set of effective, reliable and easy to use tools for building, deploying and managing highly-available, enterprise-grade applications that serve internal and external customers. These days I am responsible for adoption of new technology in Scotiabank's South American locations (working with engineering teams in Mexico, Peru, Chile and Colombia).

    Team Lead at Infusion

    7/2013 - 2/2017. Poland, Canada, USA

As a consultant / team lead, I work on various projects for different clients. Each and every project is unique in terms of architectural design, technologies and tools involved as well as the development workflow. It's also a great opportunity to learn new tools and practices and master existing skills. Not to mention that I'm constantly surrounded by exceptionally smart people - my colleagues.

    Founder and TCO at Sprites

    9/2014 - 8/2016. Poland, Canada

Sprites is a web-based tool for creating beautiful infographics and online presentations. I was behind the original concept, prototype, first version and was in charge of product development, marketing, sales and public relations.

System Developer and Architect at Dynamicweb

    2/2006 - 7/2013. Denmark

My daily work consisted of designing and implementing core components for one of the finest content management systems in Denmark: Dynamicweb CMS. I was also spending a lot of time maintaining (and helping others maintain) the product as well as hosting and participating in webinars, training courses and conferences aimed at improving the level of knowledge of the system by the customers.

    Co-Founder and CTO at PriceFlurry

    7/2012 - 1/2013. Denmark

PriceFlurry is a place to share and discover the cost of different goods and services. I was the author of the original idea, I have designed and implemented the entire platform (frontend, backend, public/private APIs, WP7 app). I've also implemented the entire UI. Although, I was very satisfied with the quality of the product and the technology behind it, I had to shut PriceFlurry down for a number of reasons (more details can be found on the blog).

  • Projects

    Numbers (discontinued)

Numbers allows you to compare different objects by some characteristic (for example, by weight or size). The project was brought by me in order to draw attention to the magic of numbers around us. The underlying implementation uses Wolfram|Alpha for gathering results.

    Sieve (discontinued)

Sieve is a simplest way of filtering your RSS feeds. The app acts as a proxy between your favorite RSS reader and the actual feed. You don't need to sign up to get started and the UI is extremely simple for anyone to understand. This app was made in roughly 5 hours for the local hackathon.

    Toprope (discontinued)

Toprope is an easy to use online guidebook for rock climbers. It contains information about climbing areas, sectors and routes from all over the globe. Some of the Toprope advantages comparing to existing solutions:

    • Content-first (including SVG images, font icons and responsive design)
    • Powerful parametrized search
    • Offline support through HTML5 Offline technology

    Visualize (discontinued)

Visualize is a very basic news reader where items are represented as pictures from the corresponding news articles. The larger the picture in size - the more popular the article (the popularity is calculated based on the amount of likes and shares on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+). This experiment was made for fun in roughly 6 hours.
